A scented begonia?
I do like my Begonias! They grow quickly from seed, flower profusely and many varieties have tubers that can be overwintered and planted out the following year to provide yet another summer festival of colour.
Double flowers = no scent, right?
Apart from some of the single flowered trailing begonias, although they look rather rose-like, the double varieties offer no scent at all. Well, that has now changed. At last – a begonia admired for its fragrance as well as its looks.
“Begonia Aromantics® brings together rose-like blooms with a delicious medley of fragrances from fresh citrus lemon to indulgent soft rose. The scent pervades on a wet morning as well as a sunny day.”
That’s what top seed company Thompson & Morgan have to say about their new and truly stunning variety of double begonia.
Begonia Aromantics® – £9.99 for 3 tubers!
I am going to cover the front of my house in begonias this year and this variety is certainly on my list! I can’t wait to take my first sniff.

HELLO!
Tell me, PLEASE!
May I buy from you Begonia Aromantics® – £9.99 for 3 tubers! I LIVE IN ROMANIA. THANK YOU!
I’m not sure if they mail out to Romania or not, but you might want to try Thompson and Morgan – I know that they sell them…not seen them anywhere else.
Are the aromantics trailing? What is the best way to plant them – I am a novice and would appreciate any help and advice so that I can have a stunning display!
They aren’t strickly trailing…better for pots, troughs and borders, although I have used a similiar begonia forms in hanging baskets; if place in the centre of the basket, they can add a superb ‘crest’ to a display, if suspended low.
