Staying alive! Keeping your plants watered this summer
I do like my holidays – a visit to the south coast for a week or two, every summer. However, a day or so before setting out, I always hit by the reality that my precious plants (both inside and out) will be left, un-watered, uncared for. I could ask a neighbour, but will they do the job right? A lot can go wrong during a warm summer within a matter of days!
I have just bought this handy little irrigation system that will water my plants on 1-3 times a day, 7 days a week with it’s built in high-tech fully-automatic timer.
How you rig up your irrigation system is up to you; you could have it watering multiple plants, borders, baskets, etc.
They are worth their weight in gold! This year, I have noticed a huge difference in the quality and quantity of the blooms in my hanging baskets. I used to hand water my garden by hand twice daily, but to be honest, the plants still didn’t get enough water to put on an impressive display.
An irrigation system should save on watering as only small amounts of water are supplied to your plants directly to the roots.
