Place them in a hanging basket or window box near an open window to benefit from their sweet and heady scent on warm summer evenings.
There are plenty of spectacular colours within Sugar n Spice™, including bi-colours. Blooms are produced all along the short stems, forming a fountain of rich colour. This variety of sweet pea requires very little maintenance as it is both naturally neat and compact – no need for pinching.
Sow October indoors, or March to April outdoors. Gradually acclimatise plants to outdoor conditions before planting out in spring when the ground has warmed. For best results, provide a rich, moist, well-drained soil in full sun. Water plants freely in dry weather and and remove spent flowers regularly to prolong flowering period, an application of manure may also be beneficial during growth.
