Growing to a height of 5-15cm and trailing as far as 45cm, Bacopa cordata ‘Snowtopia White’ is a truly delightful plant in snow-white which is spectacular when planted on its own or with other plants in hanging baskets or containers. Sold as a multi-seeded pellet for easy sowing into modules to aid easy planting.
How to sow Bacopa from seed
Sow seed on the surface of lightly firmed, moist seed compost in pots or trays. The multi-pellet form should not be covered, but requires regular misting to help the breakdown of the pellet and to aid germination. Place sown containers in a propagator or warm place, and keep at a temperature of between 20-23C (68-75F). After sowing, do not exclude light as this helps germination. Germination will usually take 5-10 days. When large enough to handle, transplant seedlings into 7.5cm (3in) pots or trays. They also take well from cuttings, stored in a frost-free spot over the colder months.
Growing on
Gradually acclimatise young plants to outdoor conditions for a few weeks before planting out after all risk of frost, 15-23cm (6-9in) apart in baskets or containers. For best results, grow in a well-drained soil-less compost in full sun.
