Buzz – the world’s first patio Buddleja!
The dwarf Buddleja Buzz (also spelt Buddleia) are very attractive, compact plants that are loved by bees and butterflies, but unlike many other varieties of this colourful sub-shrub hardy perennial, won’t take over your garden! The Buddleja Buzz is part of the Figwort family (Scrophulariaceae) and has over 100 relatives.
Smothered with blooms all summer long (June to October!) these plants are absolutely perfect for large patio pots, containers and smaller gardens. Buddleja Buzz is a deciduous variety, and will grow between 35-47 inches height. Perfect for the wild flower garden.
Looking after your Buddleja
Buddleja are easy to grow and problem-free and each plant should live for at least 10 years. They will thrive in any type of soil and most situations, but will do well in a sunny, well drained spot in the garden. Feed your plants in spring using a multi-purpose organic fertiliser and water well during dry periods.
Once the blooms have died away, cut back your Buddleja in late winter to about 10 inches to encourage plenty of new spring growth. This will not only provide plenty of new blooms, but will also make for a better shape.
