August is now upon us. Garden plants are putting on their best and the summer is at it’s warmest. So, where does that leave activities in the potting shed? Here is a short list of flowering plants you might want to sow this month.
Violas- Sowing Time February to March or September to October. Many violas have delicate fragrant and will flower and add a splash of brightness during the winter’s darkest days.
- Trim you violas when they become straggly and untidy to encourage more new growth and flowers into other seasons.
- Winter flowering Pansy
- Excellent garden performance for spring or summer flowering in bedding, containers, windowboxes, baskets and borders. Sow February-March for summer flowering or June-August for spring flowering.
