Vegetable Storage - Top Tips
- Potatoes can be stored for many months, providing you keep them in a dry, frost free and dark place. After digging then out of the ground, leave the soil of them to help to protect and keep them dry. The cupboard under the stairs is an ideal location.
- Carrots can be stored for months by placing them in a tray filled with good quality, clean sand and put in a dark, dry place. Don't use builders sand!
- If you find stringing onion together for storage too fiddly, trying stuffing them in to old nylon tights to keep them fresh and dry.
