Vegetables to sow during July - Swiss ChardSo, you’ve planted out most of your young vegetable plants such as marrows, courgettes, onions, brassicas, etc, but you still have a large gap on your allotment plot that is crying out to you to be filled with even more delicious vegetables. Well, there are still a few seeds that you can sow this during July to increase your yield and fill your plot!

Remember, July is a hot month, so protect young seedlings from the harsher effects of the mid-day sun with a little shade and don’t forget to water them! To avoid disappointment, check your seedlings at least twice a day to ensure the compost or soil is moist. Allowing your growing media to dry out will at least weaken and stunt your plants and at worst, kill them altogether.

July’s a month for sowing!
